Tour Details

The advantage to having done more pub crawls than anyone else in the city, is that I have the widest range of classic bars, and the best bartenders in the city, at my disposal. These people are my friends. New Orleans is a cocktail town, with reason. This is an evening of classic concoctions, ghost stories, city history, drinking tales, and voodoo. I’ll tie all of these points together into a cohesive experience of chills, laughs, and must-have drink suggestions. This is still well-researched history, but I’m here to make it fun. Let me save you from the dull recitation of New Orleans’ bullet points – I put on a show. This is storytelling, and through these stories, I will help you connect with one of the most amazing cities on the planet.

I will balance the tour locations based on group interest. This is an introduction to the important signature drinks of New Orleans. However, this is definitely unpretentious. You are not required to buy anything, drink what you wish. In between bars, we will visit some historical, and haunted locations, while I weave all the content into a well-rounded evening. This is perfect for groups with a wide range of interests…..except vampire stories, I don’t do vampire stories, those are made up.
It is logistically easier to let you buy your own drinks, I don’t provide them

What to Expect

We will visit classic and neighborhood bars that have some of the best bartenders in the city. With drinks in hand, we will walk and stop at historical places between each bar, and hear some of the old ghost stories that have fascinated New Orleanians for generations. We’ll talk history, a little architecture, and drinking tales. I will mold the content and venues based on group interest.

Very enjoyable experience. John was very passionate about sharing his knowledge of New Orleans and the tour brought us to places that we wouldn’t have found on our own. He also made an excellent recommendation for dinner which we followed -it was amazing. He also recommended that we explore the area of Frenchmen Street for excellent music options. Really enjoyed the tour and the extra tips to enhance our visit. Thanks John!

John was kind, attentive, knowledgeable and fun. The only experience was unique and i loved that John’s chosen stories were rooted in research and past documents. John was easy going, but well organized. We had a great time and highly recommend John’s tour.
